BEST is being built in the Faroe Islands, for the people who travel here. It is independent, and it is early.

Why it exists

A rare trip is easy to get wrong here. People book a beautiful stay on a hillside and discover there is nowhere to eat within a kilometre. They plan a day on Mykines and lose it to wind. They arrive without a car and find that half the country is unreachable.

None of that is secret information. It is simply not surfaced at the moment anyone is deciding. That gap is what BEST is for.

What we will not do

• Reorder results because a property pays for placement.
• Hide fees until checkout.
• Describe somewhere as "close to everything" when our own data says otherwise.
• Invent certainty we do not have.

Who it is for

• First-time visitors, who want to understand the islands quickly without piecing advice together from blogs, maps and transport sites.
• Independent travellers, who want the freedom of a self-guided trip with the situational awareness of someone who knows the country.
• Photographers and walkers, who need visibility, wind and daylight to decide when — and when not — to head into the landscape.
• Slow travellers, who would rather find a village, a meal or a quieter alternative than race between famous viewpoints.

The trip you may only take once

The Faroes reward travellers who can move with the day. Rain in the west may mean light in the north. A cancelled hike may reveal the village or coastal road you remember most.

The pressure to see everything can make a rare trip feel like a race. BEST is meant to make letting go of the checklist feel safe, because it can show you the best version of the day you actually have.
