Day2
Vágar, then east to Tórshavn
Sørvágsvatn and Gásadalur, then the tunnel across.
- Vágatunnilin is tolled and billed to the rental afterwards.
- Arrive in Tórshavn in time to eat — kitchens close earlier than you expect.
If the weather turns: Skip the lake walk and go straight over; use the afternoon for the old town and the galleries.
Day3
Tórshavn and Kirkjubøur
A day without the car, which after two days of driving is welcome.
- City buses are free.
- This is the day to eat well.
If the weather turns: Entirely workable in rain.
Day4
North to Gjógv
Drive up through Eysturoy, over to Eiði for the sea stacks, and on to Gjógv.
- Fill up at Oyrarbakki — there is no fuel further north.
- Book dinner in Gjógv before you leave Tórshavn. There is one place.
If the weather turns: The gorge is dramatic in weather. Slættaratindur is not — leave the summit for another trip.
Day5
Back west, and fly
Saksun on the way if time and the road allow.
- Saksun parking is restricted and the land is private — read the signage.
- Allow well over two hours to reach the airport from Gjógv.
If the weather turns: Drive straight to the airport and use the extra time in Sørvágur.
Where this plan is fragile
- Day four assumes a car. Without one, Gjógv is effectively unreachable.
- Dinner in Gjógv must be arranged in advance.
- This shape has no slack — a cancelled day costs you a location.
