Gásadalur

The village behind the waterfall — Múlafossur, which falls straight off the cliff into the sea.

Population 18 · 2026 Jul

Getting the place ready

Until a tunnel was blasted through in 2004, Gásadalur was reached only by a mountain path or by boat, and the post was carried over on foot. Now it is a ten-minute drive from Sørvágur.

The waterfall is a two-minute walk from the car park, which is why it appears on every itinerary. There is nothing else in the village — no shop, no café you can rely on.

The viewpoint is small and the parking is limited. In summer, go early or late.
